I know there is something rather huge happening this weekend
it has to be huge
there are so many people in this Fraser Clan
that we could make a major league sporting event look small.
We are so fortunate to be able to call so many people
"Aunt"
"Uncle"
"Cousin"
"Nooo, my other older brother.."
I will say though that
sometimes the explanation of our family can be exhausting...
for example
we had a conversation that went a little bit like this...
Me:"You know! My cousin Sarah from Long Island!"
Justin: "Wait.....who are her parents?"
Me: "My Uncle Steve and Aunt Lisa"
Justin: "Ohh thats right, your dad's brother"
Me: "No, my dad's cousin
Justin: "Wait, you Frasers are so confusing"
My poor poor husband, just when he thought he was getting things down.
Zing.
Got em again.
Even though it is confusing it really doesn't matter how your define it
"Aunt"
"Uncle"
"Cousin"
We all come from love.
Whatever you call um...
Ma
Pa
Nanna
Gramps....
What a tribute to two amazing people who gave us that gift.
We have love in every corner of this world because of them.
I am so glad that you all are getting together to not only celebrate each other but those two this weekend! I wish I could be there.
Anyways....
Because I can't be there
because as a farmers wife
I am tied to my man
our land
and our dang crop
that is ready at the most inconvienent time
seessh
I am going to shamelessly promote the fact that we are picking again this weekend
and we would love some help
(if you just find yourself with nothing to do on either Saturday or Sunday)
Come for 5 minutes or 5 hours.
We have food, drinks, beer, laughter, fun, and sunshine to share with all of you
even if you just want a tour of the farm we would love to have you out.
There is a giant corn field for the kids to play in
and a tractor for some cool tractor rides
so don't feel like you need to leave um behind.
If you need directions, give me a buzz
and if you can't make it this year
God willing
we will be at it again all over again next year.
Love and safe travels to everyone this weekend.
AND...
if anyone can name one of the songs that Grampy would sing in French to us when we were real little sitting on his lap
I will send you a prize
in the mail
and it might be a hop
I don't know yet.
Love,
Carrie
"your cousin"
"sister"
"niece"
"cousin's daughter"
Whatever!
